Zoolab visit
Our school hall was like "I'm a celebrity get me out of here!" when Zoolab brought their rainforest animals to the school. Here we have some of our P3-7 children enjoying the hands on experience of the show.

Allset Ceili club
A great new after school club begins on Wednesday 13th November. A traditional music and dance club run by the Allset cultural group is on from 3-4pm for all pupils in P4-7. The club will teach children some set dances and introductory Irish, all to live traditional music! The club consists of six classes for pupils and one class for parents/grandparents so that they too can learn the dances. All of the skills and talents will then be showcased at a Grand ceili in the local Community centre where parents and pupils can enjoy a night of Craic and ceol together.

Halloween dress up!!
Well done to all the boys and girls who dressed up for a good cause this Halloween. Ghosts, witches, devils and pirates were just some of the scary characters that roamed the corridors of school. Here we have our scary clown, Zsa Zsa with our P6/7 pupils. To see more scary snaps, visit the school Facebook page. All proceeds raised by our dress up day go to the Run for Autism charity.

Trip to Slieve Gullion
Primary 6 and 7 pupils travelled the short distance to Slieve Gullion to enjoy an action packed day of orienteering and outdoor learning. Led by Phil and the OK, Let's Walk team, it was a day to remember as the pupils made their way to the top of the mountain. Here we have a photo showing the beautiful views near the top as the pupils begin their descent. More photographs are available to view and download from the OK Let's Walk website.

First Holy Communion
Congratulations to the boys and girls of Miss Carragher's P4 class who made their First Holy Communion on Saturday 27th April. The children were central to the celebration and every one played their part well. Many thanks to Fr Cooney and the choir, led by Colm McGarvey, who contributed to what was a very special occasion.

Belleek Football Tournament
The Primary Seven's took part in the annual Belleek tournament on Friday 26th April. 10 local schools gathered to play for the Gary Toner memorial cup. After a very eventful mornings play (which included a 10 minute break due to a hailstone shower!) St. Michael's had managed to get to the final of the tournament where they played St.Brigid's Drumilly. After a tight match the team fell short by a solitary point. An excellent effort from the boys and girls who represented the school with great pride and sportsmanship. Congratulations to Drumily on their win and also to our neighbours St.Oliver's Carrickovaddy, who were the shield winners on the day.

At St. Michael's Primary School We aim to create a calm and caring environment where teachers and children learn and work together. Each Child will be encouraged to fulfil their potential and central to this is the ethos of respect for self and others. We aim to establish a community that pupils, parents, teachers and support staff enjoy a sense of belonging to and have an important part to play.
On this blog we will keep parents/guardians informed of past and upcoming events. There will be pictures, surveys and even games for your children to play, so make sure you are a regular visitor.
